About

We quit our jobs, sold our house, bought a trailer, GOT MARRIED, and hit the road!

We are John and Katie, two twenty-somethings from Philadelphia and we recently got married! Somewhere around late summer 2015, John had the crazy idea that we would take an extended break from working and travel the country while we were still young (because why wait until retirement?). Katie thought he was absolutely nuts at first, but the more we talked about it, the more we realized we might actually be able pull it off in the not too distant future. At that point, though it still seemed a little bit scary, we were both convinced that it would be foolish to pass up such an opportunity that most people can’t take advantage of until they’re retired, if at all.

John proposed on Christmas Eve 2015 on the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum (yes, where the “Rocky” steps are; it was a very Philly proposal!). Katie wanted a traditional wedding, but we didn’t want to draw out our engagement as long as most people do with our trip idea in mind. It was a daunting task at first, but we were able to plan the wedding of our dreams in four short months (and saved money to boot), and by May of 2016, we were married, had bought a travel trailer, packed up our house, sold it, and moved into our new “home” for the road!

As the next chapter in our journey unfolds and we learn the in’s and out’s of RV’ing, we are excited to share it with all of you! Thank you for following and please enjoy the ride with us…
